NOVEMBER 2013

A couple of slips (too much sugar/carbs!) at Thanksgiving and a friend’s holiday party pulled me out of ketosis and left me feeling like I had been hit by a truck.   All of my worst MS symptoms returned with a vengeance- pain, muscle weakness and exhaustion.  Within a week of returning to a strict ketogenic diet I was feeling phenomenal again.   Amazing how powerful food really is!

DECEMBER 2013

A visit to my doctor confirmed that everything is going as well on the inside as it appears on the outside.  My previously low red and white blood cell counts are now within normal ranges.   My kidney function is also normal (it is necessary to monitor this on a ketogenic diet).   My next appointment is in six months at which time yearly MRI studies of Brain/Spine will be conducted.

Hi Danielle, I accidentally run through your pages while checking for ketones ad the diet. Am amazed by the way you handle matters. Am wife and mother of 2, an attorney as well, general counsel at a leading shippping corporation but trying to keep fit and to honour an exercise program daily has been totally unsuccesful. Forgot to say, I have relapsing remitting MS too. One question from reading through your blog – aren’t you on any of the medications? it seems as if you do not take any. Is it only nutrition that keeps you going? Grateful if you would please let me know. Wishing you well, Elly
